Am I eligible?

Are you eligible for a Motability car?

To join the Motability Car Scheme, you must be receiving either:

  • Higher Rate Mobility Component (HRMC) of the Disability Living Allowance (DLA) or, 
  • War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement (WPMS).

Plus... with the Contract Hire package you do not need to drive. You can nominate up to two drivers who may be friends or relatives, and parents or carers can apply on behalf of a child aged three years and upwards.

Please note: If you choose the Contract Hire scheme you must have at least 12 months' award length remaining. For customers choosing to buy a car with a Hire Purchase agreement, you will need to be receiving the allowance for the full length of your agreement.

 

What the Scheme covers...

Many cars are available simply by exchanging the full Higher Rate Mobility Component of your allowance, including any increases during the agreement, for a car. This regular payment to Motability gives you:

  • A new car of your choice every three years
  • Insurance and personal accident cover for driver and passengers
  • Servicing and maintenance by your Motability dealer
  • Full breakdown assistance from RAC
  • Annual tax disc sent directly to your home 
  • 60,000 miles allowance over the three years of your agreement
  • Free replacement tyres fitted by Kwik-Fit
  • Window or windscreen repair or replacement
  • Over 4,500 Motability Dealers to choose from
  • One-stop customer helpline

Motability’s ‘hassle-free’ policy continues right to the end of your agreement. There’s no worry about re-sale prices, getting the right deal from a garage

or advertising to find a buyer; simply hand back the car at an agreed time and place as soon as your new car is ready.

Help with transport (where possible) when your car is being serviced or repaired.
